Free things to do in Toronto this weekend
An evergreen page with a live list on it. Everything below costs nothing to turn up to, and it comes from the City of Toronto’s own calendar.
We keep this list from the City of Toronto’s own calendar and it is not loading right now. Check back tomorrow, or look at the places people meet in the meantime.
Event information from the City of Toronto’s Festivals & Events calendar. Always check with the organiser before you go — times change.
If the list is thin
Some weekends the calendar is quiet, and the reliable free things in this city are not on any calendar at all. The ones that always work:
- The waterfront, end to end. The Martin Goodman Trail runs from the Humber to the Beaches and you can join it anywhere.
- A market morning. St. Lawrence on a Saturday before noon; Kensington any time; the farmers’ markets that run all summer in half the parks in the city.
- The ravines. Toronto has more of them than anywhere has a right to. The Don, the Humber, Rouge Park, the Beltline.
- A neighbourhood you have never walked. Pick one from this list and give it two hours.
Going on your own
Most people at a free event on a Saturday came alone, which is easier to believe once you have done it once. If you would rather not, Churr introduces you to people whose twins already agreed on a plan — often something from this very list.
