SMS sign-in codes
Churr sends exactly one kind of text message: a one-time code to sign you in. There are no marketing messages, no reminders by SMS and no recurring messages. Everything else the app tells you arrives as a notification inside the app, if you have allowed them.
How you opt in
You opt in by entering your mobile number in the app and tapping Send the code. That is the only way a message is ever triggered, and each tap sends one message. There is no consent checkbox because there is nothing to subscribe to: the only message that exists is the one that tap requests. This is the screen:
What is your number?
We text you a six-digit code. Your number is only used to sign you in and is stored hashed. Message and data rates may apply.
One text per sign-in, and nothing else by SMS. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.
What the message says
Frequency and cost
One message per sign-in attempt. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Churr does not charge for messages.
Help and opting out
- HELP
- Reply HELP to any message, or email [email protected]. You will receive: Churr: this number only sends sign-in codes. For help, email [email protected]. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
- STOP
- Reply STOP to any message. You will receive: Churr: you are opted out and will receive no more messages. You will not be able to sign in by SMS until you reply START. Because the code is how you sign in, opting out means you cannot sign in until you opt back in.
- START
- Reply START to opt back in.
Your number
Your number is used to sign you in and for nothing else. It is stored in our own systems only as a one-way hash. Our sign-in provider holds it to deliver the code. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
